    It has been 105 years since the United States went dry in that failed “great experiment” we call Prohibition — and since its imposition in 1919 lots of changes have occurred in the California wine business, says wine columnist Dan Berger.

    Terroir (tare-WAH) is one of the most commonly used and least understood words in the vocabulary of wine mostly because it is derived from the French "terre" meaning earth or land, but with no precise translation to English, according to Allen Balik.
